Mckenna turned one-year-old on February 23. We keep looking back at a year ago and thank God we are where we are today! For those of you who don't know, Josiah took the bar and passed it the day after Mckenna was born. The past two years have once again proven to us that God's timing is perfect. We praise him for his sovereignty! And we have every reason to celebrate!
Papa & Grandma Sell, and NayNay & Pops joined us. The day before her birthday, she tasted cupcakes for the first time. There were laughter and tears. Then, the Sunday after her birthday, we had her first birthday party. Thank you to all who celebrated with us. We appriciate all of you driving the distance to New Bern. Mckenna had a wonderful time playing with Vivi, Spence, and Beckton. Thanks to Vivi for helping blow out the candle and open presents!
I can't take full credit for the cupcakes. (I do love them!) I got the idea from Betty Crocker. If you want to try it, here are the directions: with wet kitchen scissors, cut large and small marshmallows into slices (they look like petals) and then put sprinkles on them. Pretty easy!
Thanks to Pops, for helping take photos!

This was a BIG month. Mckenna took her first steps by herself about 3 weeks before her birthday, she started saying about 7 words, and she had her first birthday! She tried a lot of new foods: muffins, cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies - all the goodies! Josiah and I have been amazed watching her grow and learn new things. Once she starts to learn something, we love to watch how she gets better at it each day.
She also had a few sick days and I put her in a laundry basket. She just sat there ... Continue reading...

Here are some more photos from Christmastime and a few extras. We visited Uncle Nick, Aunt Rachel, James & baby cousin for a few days after our visit in Ohio. Mckenna and James had a fun time playing together with their daddies while Mommy & Aunt Rachel got to go shopping :)
Mckenna also went sledding for the first time at the Fun Farm. I am ashamed that we didn't take any photos of the actual sledding because I was videoing it and Josiah was sledding with her. But you can see her in her litt... Continue reading...
Mckenna, Lindsay and Keera spent about two and a half weeks in Ohio over Christmas and Josiah joined them for one week. He drove through the blizzard of Maryland and Virginia. He was forced to stay in a hotel overnight during the 16 hour drive (which usually takes around 10 without a baby and dog). When he woke up at the hotel there were 8 inches of snow on the car! We are very happy he made it to Ohio safely. We had a wonderful time visiting with our friends and family up North. Mckenna had ... Continue reading...
She started to eating what we eat this month, including chilli, pizza and spaghetti, some of her favorites. She's getting busier and loves playing with her toys, especially her little push to ride car from Finley and Emery.

We had a wonderful weekend with the Corrigan family. All of a sudden we are overridden with children! Three baby girls in one year - we are going to have some fun! We also met the new cows at Trinity Ridge Farms.
